The Chiodo Fisso workshop was set up in Putignano (Bari) in 2017. Emanuele Ricchi, artisan, and Alessio Verdolino, digital architect, combine design, art and scenography in their research, working with traditional materials such as wood and iron. Modern techniques of computer-assisted design underpin the production methods of local artisanship to create works ranging from a single object to environmental design.
In a game of transference, we find ourselves sharing a mirror with a majestic primate. In the image of our proud ancestor, reflected with our own, species and individual memory meet and are recognized, thanks to the connection of empathy and emotion, activating a short circuit between past, present and future.
